This course teaches the most sustainable and organic methods of processing turmeric from the picking stage to the final stage. Students learn to identify ripe turmeric, clean, peel and dry it, to turn it into a high quality finished product suitable for many uses from food to beauty products.

CULTIVATING VANILLA

This course is an overview of vanilla growing and processing. It covers topics such as human assisted pollination, maintaining an optimum enviroment for the plants, processing high quality organic vanilla for consumption or sale.

Wednesday and Friday at 9h to 11h30 a.m

This course teaches how to select materials from your home or garden and to make a full organic fertilizer with these components essential to soil quality. Students will be instructed on a wide variety of ingredients that will improve soil health and maximize production in your gardens or vegetable beds.

MEDICINAL TEA

This class covers the medicinal properties of the leaves or bark of many plants and trees common to our area. The course teaches how to prepare leaves or bark for medicinal tea for a high quality product for optimum health.
